Zynthian - DIY Linux Raspberry PI Synthesizer

Floyd Steinberg did a detailed video of his trials and tribulations in DIYing a Zynthian. This dedicated synth module is powered by Linux and pure determination. He's built his with a touch interface to make it easier to work with... once he actually gets it to work.

Video Description:

Zynthian - DIY Raspberry PI synthesizer setup tutorial and sound demo. Table of contents and all the links you need below! In this video, I'm walking through all the steps necessary to build your own "Zynthian" Raspberry PI DIY synth, and play some patches, too. I'll show the sequencer and audio tools in another video next week.
#zynthian is a #linux distribution specifically designed for running synthesizer and audio software on the #raspberrypi. It comes with a specialized, streamlined user interface and a lot of apps preinstalled. You can buy an assembled kit online, but that doesn't come cheap, so in this video, I'll use some standard components to make it work. This build does not include the 4 encoders and buttons, so if you want me to have a go at these, please write a short note in the comments!

Bagatelle N.1, Opus 73 - Giuliani on a POS Keyboard

Developer Vinícius Mello wrote a JavaScript app that converts the input from a point-of-sales/piece-of-shit (POS) keyboard, into MIDI notes! The project is open-source and available on GitHub.

Video Description:

No velocity, no aftertouch, no MPE, only three keys at once: a cheap POS keyboard turned into a MIDI controller.

Pure Acid Trance Session 04

YouTuber Tiny RobotZ brings us some very squelchy Acid Trance from his TT-303 and TD-3. Seriously don't even bother with this if you don't like hearing 303's squeal. If you do though, you're in for a treat. The expanded articulation on the TT-303's filter envelope is demonstrated perfectly here.

Video Description:

Behringer TD-3-BK
Cyclone Analogic TT-303 MKII
Roland Boutique TR-09

Korg Volca Bass
Mini KP2S
Boss Blues Driver

Behringer EM600
