Aw, that's not nice. Kent did a good job.

It was soothing and informative.

Yeah, what happened to that one Discchord rule not to dismiss presenters? Tim, if you’re going through a ranting phase, it’s ok, and you might get some people in a way which generates engagement and other metrics which show you you’re doing a good job as a “social media influencer™”. How about getting some good vibes in the World so that people make cool music with the gear they have or the one they get (even without affiliate links)?
There’s enough rant out there to last a century or two. “If you don’t have anything nice to say, why are you spending the energy posting it?”
@stub: & @Enkerli: I wasn't really ranting. It was just a joke...

I thought it was funny. The whole "article" has nothing to do with the video, just me randomly calling for more Mitch. Apparently no one else thought it was funny. At all. My follow-up on Twitter went to crickets.

Sometimes jokes bomb. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I assure you I laughed hard enough for us all.
I can see why Tim has a daddy crush on Mitch, the lovable and consistent longtime spokesman for Sweetwater Sound who surely far predates Discchord with his video reviews. Kent did a fine job, in a G-Man kind of way. But it’s like going out to see the Pixies and Local H show up as the replacement band.

I like Mitch. He often has a tone like a pitch-man (which he definitely is). "Tired of lugging your big amp to gigs day after day? Well Acme Amp Approximator is an all-in-one solution. It has a desk-and--stage friendly form factor, and all the i/o to meet your connectivity needs. "

In general, the scripts are concise, and informative. However, unlike a review, it won't talk about limitations-- at least not overtly.

The demos are pretty nice because he takes you through a pretty real-world setup without much fuss. Almost always, there's some detail I want to know about that gets skipped over, but that's true of virtually every demo and review I ever watch.

“ The Peavey Aureus is an ideal digital mixer for small to medium-sized houses of worship, clubs, conference centers, and other venues.”
Bad idea. I know from experience people don’t know how to work these things. Actually by installing something like this you are providing your client hundreds of new ways to fuck up sound. A well designed sound control system for most venues has minimal controls. Four knobs on a wall plate is about right.

@El Jeffe

You're right, they should clarify that by saying (as long as you have a qualified sound person).

I set up a sound system at a school-- using mostly gear they already had. I had to create a user manual, which no one bothered to read. So instead, I did a "training" with anyone who would run sound. I tried to make it as hardwired and idiot proof as possible, while still making it flexible and taking advantage of cool yamaha digital mixer they had. I'd say I made it work pretty well, but it was a tough job. Years later, I could see that the system was still basically in decent shape.

Interesting edit from “Sometimes I bomb”. ;-)

Again, it’s your site. You can change rules, reinterpret them, perceive things differently… Hey! Maybe that’s Apple’s App Store culture rubbing off on you! ;-)

As for wanting more Mitch, that could be a cool way to feature those presenters we like. Like Dan from Akai.
