NAMM2020: Soundbrenner Smart Watch for Musicians

I thought I was done with NAMM videos! Gaz Williams from Sonic State spotted this Smart Watch for Musicians. It is by Soundbrenner, makers of The Metronome on iOS. While all of its features will eventually, and undoubtedly, be copied by the Apple Watch and its apps; this has an impressive feature set. I particularly like the decibel meter to let you know when your jam has gotten too loud for your own good! The features shown here are in the Core ($230) and Core Steel ($330) models, not the earlier Pulse.

Video Description:

With a vibrating metronome, magnetic contact tuner, decibel meter and of course an actual watch.
Originally launched as a crowdfunding project it did very well, funded many times over in its original form.

For decades now, I've had a kind of vague mental picture of my fantasy musician-watch. And this seems to tick the boxes, except the price.

A tactile metronome was never part of my oldest visions. But it's a great idea. For that matter, I think it would be cool if general hardware metronomes had a feature to use a line/headphone out with some kind of custom tactile driver. Seems like an obvious application!

I have a couple cheap surface-mount transducers that I bought thinking about building a little amp/tactile driver. In the little pile of untouched projects.
