Making music with Electromagnetic Fields

YouTuber Andrew Huang got his hands on an awesome new gadget! The LOM Elektrosluch 3+ from "somewhere in Europe" lets Andrew record the electromagnetic fields around him! He didn't find any ghosts, but this looks like a lot of fun and the device is only €100.

Video Description:

Every other electro song is a liar. Sad!

It's funny, I've recently been having an interesting conversation about noise making and the sound art movement with some likeminded friends after discovering that Arturia had recently added the 'Alma Fragment' expansion pack to their iSpark drum machine for free (which is based around electromagnetic phenomena producing sounds in space). I've seen PhD researchers and sound artists etc creating their own bespoke technology to tap into such phenomena, but it looks like someones actually commercialised it in a convenient format. Thanks to creative do-it-yourself technologies like Infusion Systems iCube and the ubiquitous Arduino etc, fortunately anyone (in theory) can access highly experimental sound design areas like this (provided they're happy to do some low level coding and soldering) but it's interesting to see similar technologies made available in a really accessible manner to a much wider audience as it's clearly a lot of fun to explore!
