Let's Play with Factory

Factory is the latest in a series of amazing apps by Sugar Bytes. This is incredibly complex, and a bit tricky to use. This video became kind of a train wreck by the end, but I had a lot of fun so I hope you'll enjoy it too!

Video Description:

Sugar Bytes brings us another massive app with the port of Factory to iOS! This is the full deal here! Nothing has been stripped from this powerhouse synth.

If you've enjoyed this series please consider supporting it by becoming a Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/discchord If you'd prefer to help on a monthly basis, instead of per video, there is a monthly Patreon campaign: https://www.patreon.com/discchord_com Or you can support me on Timmeon if you don't like Patreon: https://discchord.com/supporters#timmeon (Patrons of these campaigns get the same benefits, including Ad Free viewing on the site!)

Thanks Tim. FWIW, to me this is a pretty informative video on working with Factory. And yeah, that's the way sound design is, and that's the way working with virtual synths can be too (even hardware synths sometimes). I'll head over to YouTube now and give you that algorithm defying dislike.

Peace
Factory passes the test of sounding like nothing else. Okay, off to You Tube to dislike your video, as RTM. (-:

If you set OSC 1 to modulate OSC 1 or 2, does it do FM?

This kind of reminds me of the modulation grid of Rhino (Mac) by Big Tick Audio.
I don't think so. Only those two yellow labels offer the OSC 1 and OSC 2 options. The rest of the Y axis has a shorter list of parameters, and the X axis has a separate list.

I wonder if there are any current or even ongoing youtube algorythm studies, probly nothing thats publishing data freely about the net... i wanna hear what you come up with in your experiment like what you learn or what you have a hunch about.... whatever they are up to its surely not about giving us a good educational experience.

I'll be sharing my results! I have a couple of more tests I want to do too!

Thank you for pointing that out! That has revealed an interesting underlying bug.
