Vio - No Longer Useless!

Throughout the history of Vio it has been increasingly less useless, at a frustratingly slow pace. Finally the vocal effect app can be used as an effect in Audiobus!

What's new in Vio v2.1.0:

Sochi Colors! We’ve added 3 free colors to Vio store. Sochi Colors includes Medals, Flag of Russia and Sochi, each inspired by the 2014 Winter Games.

Vio 2.1 adds support for Vio as an Audiobus effect, making it the perfect vocal processing app for the experienced studio professional and hobbyist alike. Also, Vio now allows you to tag the location of a recording. If that wasn't enough, Vio is now localized in ten additional languages and is more stable than ever.

We have also added two new vocal presets to the "All Presets" in-app purchase.

A useless and self-congratulatory Russian app?

No, thanks! Maybe if they get their asses out of Ukraine & stop being assholes.....

Well, you probably cannot put all that is going on in Russia down to a Music App Developer. As for the App, it is pretty good! However, until the IAA for sounds get down to where it should be (2.99 max, sorry, it ain't THAT good), and gets rid of those stupid colour pack add ons, I just keep on deleting it. Nobody, I mean NOBODY, is going to pay a cent for those options, and neither should they (if they do, they are seriously being duped).

I could like this app, I really could...but there is a dummy element at play here that needs smartening up. When that happens, Vio may start getting used by a few...musicians.

Until that day: No.

Or one could even pay for the colors to support development... It has been a fun and innovative app since initial release.

There are an awful lot of fun and innovative apps out there, and unfortunately, I would much rather invest in the audio side of things and hope they get the visual design in the package...There is no way on earth that this app compares with anything way more fun by Holderness Media or Kymatica, who charge less, and provide brilliant, useful, and yes, FUN updates on a regular basis for NOTHING. Reality check, please...we are not stupid.

I beg to differ:)

Sorry, apologies, insofar as it is "free". I have for the most part just stopped getting the "free" stuff, because invariably there is all this insidious and superfluous IAA stuff attached in the "bargain". You should get what you pay for. If Vio drops the Sound modules to 2.99, I will consider it, but honestly, it is a very competitive scene as far as audio FX for iPad now, and many of us have invested an awful lot of money in the really good ones, so the development fees are going to be a very, very hard sell with this crowd.

I grabbed the extra sounds iap the other week at a reduced price, so it might drop again. This is one of my favourite experimental apps, so now it's on the bus I love it even more, mainly just use the inbuilt mic and make as many strange sounds, scraps, clicks and the like as I can. I'll grab the other iap to support the dev, even though I have little use for extra colours, I've enjoyed using this app, just something I clicked with.

Chris you have your IAA confused with your IAP and it's RIDICULOUS. GET IT RIGHT!

Just goofing.

I agree with you to a degree about IAP being pretty infuriating. I have to say, Free + IAP is not nearly as bad as Pay + IAP. I would never have bought Korg Gadget if the instruments were $2 a pop, but I did pay the $28 all at once. It just feels scammy or something to my inner dimensions (I just made that up) and I can't do it.

re: insidious freemium apps - they're not all evil. Xynthesizr, for instance, works just fine right out of the box without having to buy anything.

But in general... yeah.

ha! I have bungled that IAA vs IAP thing more than a few times. In a rush...How about IAM: Inner Acronym Meltdown...
