discchord - Market Correction

I was pretty blown away by the feedback I got on my last song, so I've decided to do a whole album in my own HardPsy style. Here is the second track, which builds on the themes explored in Colony Collapse Disorder. I promise the next one will be fun and funny! MP3 download is available on Soundcloud.

In addition to my hardware I'm using Arctic Keys on the dirge, with a patch I developed while in a doctor's waiting room. The weird video effects at the end are from a second iPad running Sonograph, by the developer of Purple Goo.

Please don't get pissy, it's art. The same brutal, uncensored, sincerity you enjoy in this site is reflected here.

The "related videos" from YouTube are pretty darned amusing!

Now that you mention it... YouTube has finally decided I don't want to see more My Little Pony videos! It took it a couple of months to figure that out.

Aww... I wanted to get pissy...

*kicks a pebble*

Stuff sounds good by the way, I really mean it. I would say so if I didn't think so.

:( no yoga ball?

Aside from that. I enjoyed. Although if you threw in some dance moves it wouldn't hurt. :) and you can't go wrong with a little Heston sampling. Nice.

Also, you promise the next one will be fun and funny? Why? I don't know, I'm kind of liking the current tone and feel, it has a certain intensity to it.

The yoga ball's absence is symbolic of the fallacies in Nietzsche's philosophical treatise, "All life is Will to Power." The premise is sound, but this is only one facet in the array of life's ambitions. Had Nietzsche studied Yoga he would have understood this better.

Nah I'm just fucking with you...

It was hot! There is a fan, below my desk, on the AC vent and it must have blown the ball out of the frame.

@Jesse: I want to explore a range of emotions on the album, and have mapped it out in a way that does this. Making a whole album of songs that flow together is a new challenge, but I understand enough about mixing in key that I have some ideas of how to accomplish this. You'll notice at the end of this track it starts to go upbeat. I'm trying to do a "darkest before the dawn" sort of thing here, with a hint of the bright dawn that comes in the next track. It will still be a very discchordant track, just funnier.

Sounds good Tim, and interesting, as long as you don't sample My Little Pony!

Erm... You weren't... Going to sample My Little Pony were you?

No... but now that you mention it....
