Line 6 Sonic Port with Mobile POD

There have been several videos showing off the new Line 6 Sonic Port, but massivebeatzz is the first to really show off the Mobile POD app that you get for free when you connect a Line 6 Sonic Port to your iDevice. This video starts off rough, but the audio quality dramatically improves about 4 minutes in when he kills the over-driven distortion. I thought it was still worth featuring here just to see what Line 6 has been hiding in that app!

I'm actually kind of warming up to the Sonic Port, and I do like some of the sounds that are in the Pod app. My two main guitars have passive pickups, and not a lot of output, so they really need some pre-amp (which the Apogee Jam has built in). For the guitars that have active pickups, there's a little more oomph, and the Sonic Port sounds better to me.

Some of the tones in the video are fantastic; he's got a great Stevie Ray Vaughn sound in some spots.

Initially, I was really skeptical of guitar tones out of an app, but for studio recording, I'm a believer now.
