One of the best iPhone synths is now available in a large iPad version! I take a deep look at what you're getting, in this video review.

I had an appfrenzy yesterday and bought this at the same time a Magellan (which is completely and utterly awesome!), Cassini has a very clean and cool in look, feel etc. Sadly it crashed within a minute of me using it, freezing up in the Arp editor and, for a minute, locking up my ipad completely, and that has jaded my opinion of it somewhat. Running through the presets the strength seems to be big spacey pads which I can really use, I am starting to forgive it now as it has an awful lot going on and a really nice interface.

Arp screen seems to be pretty buggy - I have 16 steps enabled. default Up arp selected, if I hold down 4+ keys and let the arp play I will get a sound cutout within a few seconds. sometimes sound comes back, sometimes I need to re-trigger. Couple of times sound came back but the notes stuck on and I had to go to main screen, hit and release hold to turn them off.

Anyone else having this?

Hey, thanks for the shout! I'm gonna tell my mom to watch it.

I really appreciate that Cassini both looks and sound like it's own beast. And my god, there's a lot to control. Oberheim matrix level time based wackiness is trivial to achieve with it. Much easier than it is on the matrix-6 anyway!

I hadn't encountered any real bugs, and I was trying to crash it after reading Pants comment in the other article. I did manage to make notes hang on the patch screen by screwing around with the octave button while holding down a key, but I thought that was a pretty obscure thing to be doing so I didn't mention it.

Are you still getting crashes, Pants? I know how amazingly pissed off I would be, if I lost a patch I was working on to a random crash!

@Will it was a great tip! You deserve the credit, because I hadn't figured that out!

Also, that delay page is fucking magic. It's got so many long lost features of cool 80s delays like the effectron and rex1000. Inverted phase? Delay time and filter modulation via lfo? C'mon. Awesome.

You know Tim, there are things that you see, that just can't be unseen. That thing at 0:36. That's almost as freaky looking as Skrillex.

No more crashes, but the Arp screen still produces the same result- I killed all my apps in the background, start up Cassini, pick a patch (Synth A01 in this test) - activate the Arp, press 4 keys and wait - within a few bars (it varies) the sound will cut out, in this test sound came back when I lifted my fingers and would not turn off again - the only way to stop it is to go to the home screen and press/release the hold button. Maybe it's just me, I have bought buggier apps this month (YES DrumTrackHD, I am talking about you!!) but still seems odd.

Maybe it's because I was beta testing that last NLog release, I just have to try and break everything now!

Tim! What's the recipe for that elephant-dubstep preset? Think it was named Babylon. Sounded awesome. :)

I always loved icegear's synths' look and design, but sound have always been very specific for me - clear like crystal, very transparent.

Bought magellan and cassini (not in this order), lots of fun but their targeted at different "consumers", as magellan "sounds" superior IMHO. Anyway, can't wait for audiobus!!
As for nwave or whatever that nlog's creator next synth will be, I think cassini/magellan combo pretty much took at the spotlight.
