iMPC Update

Retronyms and Akai have updated iMPC with some much requested features; including some basic sample editing and mute groups! Both of these are key features for anything MPC-style and were sorely missed by the community.

This does not include Audiobus yet, but on the bright-side users are reporting that it also does not include the show-stopping install bug experienced by many upgrading from 1.0 to 1.1!

Playing Notes on iKaossilator with Masking Tape

Mee Zanook has a short video demonstrating the advantage of putting some masking tape on your iPad screen, to know precisely where to hit when playing with Korg's iKaossilator. This is similar to techniques used by owners of the original Kaossilator.

INGUI - iMan

Reader Ignacio Gracián, aka INGUI, has had videos featured here many times for their combination of beautiful music and Argentine scenery. His music mainly uses a combination of guitar and Ableton Live, controlling his loops and effects on an iPad running Lemur.

His first album, iMan, was released today and is available on Bandcamp (pay what you like) or Mediafire (self-pirated). Here is the Bandcamp embed of the album. I've been listening to the whole thing this morning, but if you only listen to one song I think you'll enjoy track 9, Rumbo a la Rumba.

Distraub Synchrotron Live @ The Orpheum

In addition to being an app developer, Alex Matheu is also a performing musician; under the name Distraub. Here is a video he shared today of his first live gig with his GlitchBreaks app. Here he is at The Orpheum in Tampa, Florida, this past weekend.
