Audiobus has 99 problems, iOS6 is reportedly not among them!

After a week of wild rumor-mongering, Audiobus has responded to the concerns about their future. Most of what they want to say can't be said in public, due to the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) Apple requires of all developers.

Here's what they can say publicly:

  1. We (the Audiobus team) are not concerned in the slightest.
  2. Audiobus is going to be submitted to Apple in the coming weeks.
  3. If you’re one of the over 300 developers who have signed up to include Audiobus in their apps you should definitely check out the Apple dev forums link. (Only visible to registered Apple Developers)

Michael & Sebastian

I love that, "not concerned in the slightest." As if they've been shaking their heads in disbelief for the last week, and just got around to dealing with this shit. If you got rumors to spread I feel bad for you, son. Audiobus' got 99 problems, but iOS6 ain't one.

ThumbJam sale!

The hugely popular ThumbJam is down to $1 right now! I'm personally snagging this now, based on what you guys have told me about it. If you're a deal hunter this is a great opportunity; the last sale was back in December 2010!

Buy ThumbJam on iTunes: $0.99 (On Sale, from $6.99)

If you're unfamiliar with what Thumbjam actually is, I'm afraid it is kind of hard to explain. Thumbjam is like a Studio app, with lots of different parts as well as recording/looping. It is also a MIDI controller and has all of the features you'd expect of a solid app.

I'll let YouTuber InrockK님의 채널 show it off. You can totally jam out with just your thumbs, as one might expect, but there is something about that massive Axiom plugged into a tiny iPhone that I love!

InrockK's channel is really worth checking out. I especially like his Stairway to Heaven cover.

iVoxel updated and on sale!

VirSyn's Universal vocoder has been updated with Retina support and some bug fixes, but it is also on sale for $10!

What's new:
  • Support for iPad Retina display.
  • SoundCloud export on iPhone/iPod fixed.
  • Akai SynthStation 25 now working with iOS 5.
  • Vibrato problem fixed.
  • Selection of Scale was broken on new iPad.
  • Occasional crashes on startup fixed.

I haven't played with this one, have any of you? I found this demo from Virsyn.

It definitely has VirSyn's style, looking similar to Addictive and iSyn Poly.

Buy iVoxel on iTunes: $9.99 (On Sale, from $11.99)

SlideControl is Free for a limited time

SlideControl is a MIDI piano controller, with Virtual MIDI support. It is usually $4, so a nice freebie! This is not the same thing as SlideControl FS, which includes a SoundFont player and costs $10. I haven't played with either.

It looks similar to MorphWiz... and free!

Buy SlideControl on iTunes: Free (On Sale, from $3.99)

Here's a demo from the developer.

Amon Tobin is a Ninja and other observations

Reader Paavo let me know about an interesting new video on discchord Facebook page. Apparently a new app called Ninja Jamm is on the way, and famed Brazilian producer Amon Tobin was playing with it in a coffee shop.

Fortunately a camera crew was also in attendance!

There isn't a lot of information available on this one yet, but their website promises more in the coming days.
