Indie band Rubblebucket live in the same neighborhood as Bolasol developer Karl Scholz, so members Kalmia Traver and Alex Toth came over to play! Here they perform their song Silly Fathers in what is, without a doubt, the best Werkbench demo ever!
This new weird app came out late last Friday, but the iTunes description was vague and the website was obtuse so I ignored it. This morning I found a demo for Logique Analogique that made me take notice!
Create surprising, complex rhythms and distinct lo-fi sounds using the Logique Analogique app! This simulation of an existing circuit board includes an 8-bit counter, a parametrizable, analog implementation of logic functions, and a four-channel, 1-bit sound generation.
Warning: Turn your volume all the way down! This is crazy loud!
Marc Luecke has a very professional looking "living room session" in this performance of Isn't It with Loopy HD.
Everything is performed live. I´ve used Loopy HD and Multitrack DAW on the iPad to record this song.

MIDI Studio has been promising an update to add customization since April. Today it is finally here, but it will cost you a lot more!
MIDI Studio is the reason I don't post developer promises here, nor sales on apps that fluctuate prices frequently. Whenever an app goes on sale, sites like AppShopper put them at the top of the "What's new" lists, in with all the app updates. This is a much easier way to stay relevant than actually updating the app.
What's new in 1.2:
Totally redesigned UI.
To Built-in Purchases added "Ability to create custom layouts"
More Layouts added:
- Drums 4x4
- DJ Mixer (Built-in Purchase)
- DJ CD Player (Built-in Purchase)
- DJ Vinyl Player (Built-in Purchase)
- XY Pad's
- Virtual Midi added.
- More Keyboard Presets
- Keyboard Scale (Transpose)
- Ability to move keys by finger
The actual IAPs are not explicitly marked as such in the app. If you click on any of the new layouts you're immediately presented with a "Confirm Purchase" pop-up, with no prior warning that the layout is locked to you. The prices range from $1.99 to $4.99, and to actually use the long-promised customization features you will need to pay them an additional $14.99!
A new "Pro" version of the app is also available, but at the time of this writing it does not indicate in the iTunes description if this includes all of the IAPs or customization.
Between the price fluctuations, unlabeled IAPs, and IAPs on top of promises, this smacks of some of the greediest behavior we've seen on iTunes.
Fuck these guys.
