Sweetwater: Shure MV7 & Shure SM7B Comparison

Mitch Gallagher from Sweetwater shows off Shure's new MV7. This is a modern, and slightly more affordable, take on their classic SM7B. The new MV7 offers USB connectivity, in addition to traditional XLR. There's also a companion app and a new on-mic controls. Unfortunately it doesn't quite sound as nice as the SM7B in Mitch's test here, but for $150 less it might be worth considering. I bought my SM7B with the first chunk of money from my YouTube videos and consider it to be the second best investment I've made in my career.

The Shure SM7B dynamic microphone is a top choice among recording engineers, broadcasters, and podcasters alike. The Shure MV7 aims to reproduce the SM7B's detailed sound quality and excellent off-axis sound rejection, with USB convenience for podcasters. So, how do they stack up against each other? Find out in this comparison by Sweetwater's Mitch Gallagher!

LOL! Before MATRIXSYNTH had publicly announced his Patreon, he emailed me for some feedback. Part of my feedback was becoming his first Patron. The way MATRIXSYNTH thanks his Patrons is with a page on the site to list supporters; ordered by who joined first.

That is the best $1 I spend every single month.
