YouTuber Pete Johns really wants to be nice to the people at Melody.ML who are offering a service that allegedly uses Machine Learning (ML) to separate vocals and other elements from a song for $0.50 per song. Pete is polite. I'm American. The service is shit, and this is a train wreck to watch. But in a fun way!
How do you remove the vocals from a song and leave the backing tracks so you can sing along to an instrumental?
In this video I put “melody.ml” to the test and see if it can really separate vocals from instrument tracks in an MP3 or WAV file.
Jump to 12:40 to see me sing along to a backing track created using melody.ml.
(Shout out to Markka Suominen on Twitter for putting me on to this service)
