Metasystem.io, developer of the iPad app Metagrid, released Metapad. This is a highly customizable gesture-based controller for iPhone. It is designed specifically for use with desktop DAWs, and includes direct support for Cubase, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, Studio One, Digital Performer, and Reaper.

Thanks for listing this. I'm a DP user, and that DAW often doesn't get much love. Metagrid and now Metapad seem very impressive and useful. There's something quite "clean" about how it seems set up. I'm not sure I have any bandwidth for the learning curve, but it does seem like it could be useful, especially when wanting to record away from the computer.

Requires iOS 11.4 or later. Looks like a good use for an old phone. I'm generally not a fan of this sort of thing, because I don't use any one app enough hours a day to really learn a bunch of shortcuts, but even a few simple ones like scrolling the DAW play cursor could be really handy.

and I gotta give bonus points for native Reaper support right out of the box.
