Let's Play with EG WaveShaper

Interface design is a discipline that requires a lot of expertise. You can cram a lot into an app, but can you make it look inviting and intuitive to use? At first glance EG WaveShaper seems like a stripped down wavetable synth, but it is quite capable! There are a ton of fun sound design options provided in a this little package!

Video Description:

Elliott Garage's EG WaveShaper is a powerful wavetable synth with a simple interface that I really enjoy playing around in. Let's Play with it!

I've got a special double-feature for you today. Last night a couple of wannabe gangstas came by to shoot at a house down the street from me. These criminal masterminds decided that my house, festooned with security cameras, would make for good cover. Fortunately there was no return fire. They fired around 11 shots. No one got hurt, because knowledge of how to shoot with any accuracy is just one of their many areas of ignorance.

Its fucking sad. Its completely fucking sad, my only thought when I see this shit is how I hate pop culture for creating this bullshit little rooster dance for darwin awards. I think of those little kids who live in that every day. I think media needs to be censored in different ways, I cant even listen to a song without having to first search uncensored, why cant they be equally efficient at removing all the macho acting bullshit in hollywood that reenforces this type of behavior as normal ways of responding to conflict. We live in a world with such dumbed down culture and media, no time can be taken for really breaking it down and fixing shit. Shits broken when anyone lacks genral fucking respect for public as to just kill randomly.

This is the sort of thing that could happen anywhere, in America, so if it had to happen here I'm glad no one got hurt.

These cameras haven't been doing much beyond helping me make goofy Halloween videos, but this experience has us looking to upgrade to a full 4k system. https://amzn.to/2MDsDBg
Bye, Tim.

You don't have to go. You just have to not be racist in my comments section.
Crazy. Glad you are ok Mr. Tim.

You need a 4K system ? Perhaps the police could not read the license plate or identify the perps? I'm no big fan of the Big-Brother/Minority-Report State, but with security cameras everywhere on homes and other private property it is already here via the citizens (little-brother?). Maybe the time has come for automobiles to be required to have transmitters, like airplanes or ships. Maybe personal transportation needs to be removed from the criminal's tool kit. I live in a smallish town where pathetic losers periodically rob the local Wally-world. I suppose most of the fools get caught eventually, but, why not have a system where vehicles are easily monitored/traced in the event of crime investigations and cars that do not have working transmitters are spotted quickly and tracked down (would probably stop half the young male dingbats before they could commit a really serious crime saving us all time, money, and grief).

Yes more camera, more tracers, more microphones...in an ideal world, you wouldn't need any of these tools. In a less ideal world, you would need these tools to track bandits and outlaws. In the real world, all these tools will be used by companies (financial, commercial, etc) and states (taxes, influence, etc) to track you...

I'm hyper-sensitive to Big Brother/Little Brother concerns. I don't own any devices that talk to Amazon or Google, and I only let Siri listen when I press a button!

I'm not comfortable with some of the warrantless surveillance that Amazon Ring is offering police with their cameras. At the same time, if someone is doing something stupid near my house I'm probably going to want to volunteer that to the police! So all of my security systems have always been stuff I control, and not something that's just broadcasting to some corporate entity or law enforcement.

This is the second time I've seen someone commit a crime on my cameras. The first was a bike theft from my neighbor's garage. In both instances I decided to voluntarily contact the police to let them know I had footage for them. That's the way it should be, I think.

Well, why not have a system where every human is chipped and there are polce cameras in every room of your house? That would help catch the bad guys and save us all "time, money, and grief".

I'll tell you why: because privacy is a right and people should be free of surveillance.

Yes, so was I! I was the lead story for the 5 o'clock edition.

Reminds me of last summer when somebody kept test firing their seven round semi-automatic pistol in the alley about five feet from me on the other side of the wall.
