Stoneburner - One By One We Glitter And Disappear

Reader Steven Archer explores his existential crisis through Industrial music and excellent video production. Last year we got a glimpse of his music making process with The Beast.

Video Description:

Stoneburner - One By One We Glitter And Disappear

A meditation on my personal existential crisis.
All of the people featured in the video were loved ones of fans and others.
As they have gone, so will we.
Your life is a finite perfect moment in a universe made almost entirely of empty space and inert matter.
Regardless of your beliefs in the matter, the only thing we know for sure is, "we are here now."
Make the most of it.

Lyrics.

In the sky the satellites
Mare Umbra running
Finite live
This book of days is mine
This lovely waste of time
My sunset in the distance
The violence of existence

There are no ancient institutions
Saving me from dissolution
You cannot preserve the stars
In empty canopic jars

One by one we glitter and disappear

In my single serving life
On one fraying strand of time
Doubtless not enough to make it mine
In the eternal blindness
Of my existential crisis
Tourniquet my fears and sins
In flames with red ribbons
Burn them to ash
Join me at last
In stark oblivion

From this single moment
Until the end of this song
Exactly 129 seconds of my life is gone
There goes another hour
There goes another day
There goes another year of life
Pissed away

One by one by one
One minute gone
One by one by one
The speed of Life
One by one by one
Our candles glitter bright
One by one we
Disappear
