App Sales: Black Monday

As you can probably tell by all the panicky sounding emails from marketing departments, the Black Friday week of sales has begun. Here is the first batch in what is sure to be many many app sales arriving this week!

Indie Spotlight

For the week of Black Friday I like to highlight some of my favorite musical discoveries from the past year. This is mostly just to flex my hipster cred, I do run a music blog after-all, but it's also nice to showcase music that isn't getting the attention it deserves.

Eliot Sumner's sophomore album Information is competent Alt. Rock. The tone and lyrics seem far more mature than her apparent youth would lead you to expect. But she's the daughter of Sting, so she's probably seen some shit. I feel she's being poorly represented by her label, because they've done nothing to emphasize the best track on the album. Wobbler offers an amusingly psychotic combination of elements that serve as a pedestal to her vocal style.

Glad to see somebody else digs Eliot Sumner. Information is a strong alt-rock record with almost zero attention as far as I can see.
