The Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition (GarageBand Cover)

YouTuber Why You Should Love Music took on a challenge from one of her viewers to recreate Sweet Disposition using only GarageBand. She even did the vocals!

One of you asked me to do a cover using only sounds from the iPad GarageBand app (plus my vocals). I had never used that app before this, but I sure had a lot of fun with it!
WARNING: audio doesn't start until 0:06. Don't kill your ears by trying to turn it up before that.

Here's my iPad cover of Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap. (It had been a few years since I heard this song before Brendon requested it, and I can believe I almost forgot about it! I love this song so, so much.)

GarageBand is a free app for Apple devices, and all the sounds in this video (minus my voice) come prepackaged and ready for your fingers to tap out. I did a screen capture on the iPad while I recorded the tracks, and the video bounces around a bit to try to capture the experience and the different parts of the app I used. I was actually really surprised at just how extensive the app is, and I didn’t use even half of the app’s features for this song.

I did use an external mic for my vocals, because my voice is not stellar to begin with, and the internal mic on an iPad was not going to do me any favors.

So this was a fun little experiment. What did you think? Do you have any magical tips for using GarageBand on an iPad?

Do you have any more crazy/silly music ideas you want me to test out? Want to request a song for me to do a cover of? (on actual instruments, carved up fruit, or whatever else you can think of)

Holler at me in the comments!
