Power DX7: Yamaha DX7 - FM Player Comparison

YouTuber Power DX7 got a shoutout by Matthew Fecher during our Let's Play with FM Player. Here he does a side-by-side comparison on the new app with a Yamaha DX7 Mk 1.

Video Description:

This is a demo and comparison of iPad FM player and the Yamaha DX7 MK1 side by side.

The FM PLAYER is a sample based iPad app faithfully re-creating famous DX7 sounds from Tube Bells, Bass 1, E.Piano, FullTines and more. It also has DX7 II and TX 81z sounds.

What I like about this player is that its sound is great. There are some differences between the DX7 MK1 and FM PLAYER, but the difference could be coming from using the DX7 MKII or sounds recorded at higher velocity.

The original E.PIANO 1 is spot on. It's sound is really clean (cleaner than my DX7 MK1).

Unlike FM8 or Dexed, those sounds don't suffer from artefacts. It's simply a faithful re-creation of the DX7 sounds.

Considering it's free, this is a great companion to the DX7, as you can play some famous DX7 sounds and use the actual DX7 for something else.

This synth sounds beautiful. I'm already using the E Piano 1 and Bass 1 and more. I usually use Korg Module for a piano sound, but find myself going to this free app right now it's so smooth. I want to thank the people behind this and let them know I'd pay for more sample presets.
