Audio Damage Apps coming to iOS!

VST and hardware manufacturer Audio Damage is set to unleash a whole bunch of apps on iOS! Over the weekend on Instagram, developer Chris Randall posted a picture of their Grind VST on an iPad, which looks like it is being hosted as an AUv3 Instrument inside of Garageband.

Yesterday on Twitter he let it be known that a lot more is in store! Firstly he mentioned reverb plugin Eos 2 was coming AUv3 iOS, but then he dropped this:

So expect a free AUv3 compressor this week, and even more if things go well!

I downloaded the app from the embedded link but can't figure out how to get Audiobus to work. All I get are naked guys :)

LOL, damnedest thing. I'll talk to the Audiobus guys, maybe they can get Grindr to support it.
Well, with me the naked guys multiply when you run them through a delay in Audiobus. Excellent!

There's lots of FX apps in iOs already Tim.

Do you think their FX apps bring anything new to the party?

No. We should petition to stop them bringing their apps to ios.
You can lead the campaign and i know one other person in Kentucky who will support you.
... still a lot of rythm there
How will "Rough Rider 2" look like?

There are, but not a lot of AUv3 effects. I really like the AUv3 workflow, so more AUv3 effect apps are exciting to me personally.

How do you get rid of the the Grindr icon permanently from your purchased list.
What a bad trick
Thanks

Hello,

I already sent you a message, but perhaps I sent it to the wrong section, so here I go again.

No disrespect, but I didn't think it appropriate to include a link to grindr in your Audio Damage news. I didn't appreciate being tricked into clicking a link I wouldn't ordinarily go to.
I am not making any judgements about sexuality. To each his own. So if you decide to respond to this, please be respectful
Sorry. Double post.

Heston, the link is to a public app on the iOS App Store and not an adult site. If you type Grind in the App Store search Grindr is one of the suggested apps. I'm sure you are not going to also request an apology from Tim Cook and Apple corporation. It was done in fun until the app is truly available. Now if you installed it, got caught at work browsing through it, and got fired for not completing your days assignment, then it's still on you and not Tim. I personally have to force myself to only download new amazing apps at night because I will waste my whole day playing with them and not do what I'm supposed to. Visiting discchord during the day is a hazard for me. Respectfully, k_sf

I agree with heston. I also felt tricked into clicking on a link I wouldn't ordinarily click on. I understand it was meant as a joke, but does that then mean that something done in humour is an excuse to justify anything?

I replied to your Gmail address. Perhaps you entered it incorrectly. I'll say what I said there:
It was a joke to illustrate the fact that the new "Grind" app has some competition on iOS for the namespace. I thought Grindr was common knowledge, so I did not expect a lot of accidental clicks.

Now while you did not mean to be offensive, I do take a little bit of offense.

Let's say I posted a link to an app that had black people pictured in the app description. This is easy to imagine, you can see the Grindr iTunes screenshots without clicking through to iTunes. It is here on the site: https://discchord.com/appDB/id319881193

So just look at those, and imagine all those people are black.

Now would you have a problem with it if I "tricked" you into clicking on it?
Just some Rickrolling on Tim's part (grindrolling?).

Look at it this way, all those shadowy agencies and corporations who track everything you do now suddenly think you're gay and are freaking out wondering how they missed this until now.

Back on topic, I wonder if we might also see FuzzPlus at some stage?

Let me speak for all straight men of no color and the hurt that is systematically inflicted on our own sensibilities. We take offense at such chicanery in fooling us to view muscled man nipples, (it's bad enough at the rec center pool), and in making us reflect that there are those of our own gender who are fantasizing on our personal and private junk. It is a violation of our culturally justifiable desire to be sheltered and we feel it socially appropriate in demanding our own safe space, whether it be here, elsewhere and, well, just about everywhere.

I can't wait for the developers' inevitable rage posts on audio forums about how much it sucks to make software on iOS... They think it's a lot of work to keep up with macOS...

Hello Tim,

Thank you for your email and taking the trouble to respond. I shall also post here what I wrote in my reply to you.
I apologise if you felt a little offended. It certainly wasn't my intention to do that, but I don't really understand your point about black guys.
Grindr is not something I had heard of before, so it wasn't common knowledge to me. The black and yellow icon representing the app in the link looks to me like a kind of alien face or a Venetian mask worn during a carnival, so it wasnt obvious to me what the app is for.
I want to make clear I am not looking for conflict or trouble. Ordinarily, I probably wouldn't have even bothered to writein the first place. It was purely an impulsive reaction.
Finally, let me say that you run a great site!! I visit it on a daily basis. It is a fantastic, invaluable resource and one of the best for ios related stuff. I have got a lot out of it. Keep up the excellent work!!
Hopefully, there are no hard feelings on your part.

Regards

Heston

My point is that you wouldn't have written anything if I "tricked" you into looking at an app that featured pictures of black people. Because that would have been overtly racist.

They aren't having hardcore gay sex in your face. It is literally just some pictures of some dudes. They aren't doing anything other than standing around. Their only sin is the implication that they are gay because they are featured in a gay app. Yet you felt the need to write in about it 3 times: via email, on the forums, and in this comment.

If seeing a bunch of guys, with the mere implication that they are gay, causes this much of a reaction for you then I don't thing the problem is on my end.

There are no hard feelings here. I don't hold grudges. But this is Pride Month, so casual homophobia wasn't going to fly today.
I would like to state that there is no casual homophobia or any form from my part. I wrote 3 times because I wasn't sure which section to post to.
This does remind me of a South Park episode called "The Death Camp Of Intolerance", series 6 episode 14.
To paraphrase Kyle, he says, "I have nothing against gays, but Mr.Garrison shoved Lemmiwinks the gerbil up Mr. Slave's arse."

Maybe this is a bad analogy, but if I were vegetarian, would I be insulting meat eaters because I didnt want to see a photo of animals being slaughtered?
June 17, 2017  | person_outline Heston
Your second analogy would hold up if something I linked showed pictures of gay people having gay sex.

You took issue when you saw photos of gay people.

My husband and I are celebrating our 11th Anniversary this month. We're also fans of South Park. Don't fucking accuse me of being P.C. Principle when you're coming at me from every single method to push your message of, "Seeing gay people is weird. I don't like it!"
I actually took issue with being "tricked" into clicking a link I wouldn't ordinarily go to. This, for me at least, is not about sexuality. I really don't give a hoot if someone is homosexual, transgender, hetero sexual or whatever.
However, you keep insinuating I am homophobic when I am not, and now you also falsely accuse me of pushing a message of "seeing gay people is weird."

You seem to be quite angry Tim. As I previously wrote, I am not here to argue, troll, or annoy, though maybe I have unintentionally upset you. I have made no judgements about you, but you have made a couple of false assumptions about me (homophobic and trying to push an agenda) Let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that.
