Korg Volca FM with Patch Touch DX

Mike Longo from Expanding Sound answers the first question that popped into my mind when I saw the Korg Volca FM:
"Can I tweak that with DX7 apps?" The answer is... kind of!

Video Description:

Korg is releasing a new 3 voice, 6 operator fm synthesizer known as the Volca FM. Fm synthesis was very popular in the 80's with the Synclavier and, of course, the Yamaha DX7: one of the most popular synths of that decade. With 80s music experiencing a renaissance, Korg has made this affordable and fun Volca to bring the sound of the DX7 back into the spotlight.

I own a DX7, and like many others, have always found it difficult to program. However, Coffee Shopped's DX Touch iOS App made it very easy to visualize exactly how fm synthesis works, and made it much easier to make my own patches. When I heard about the Volca FM, I wanted to see if it was possible to make DX Touch work with it. Check out the video to see the results, and don't forget to subscribe! Nice! But maybe he doesn't know that I actually released a Volca FM editor for my other app, Patch Base! It's a much better fit :) Korg Volca FM Editor in Patch Base

Does this support the modulations that were failing in Patch Touch, or is that a limitation of the MIDI Korg allows on the Volca FM?

Chance would be a fine thing , korg have chosen to distribute everywhere else on the planet except here. Yet again. It's an act of war.

Tim, yes, it does support individual parameter changes, with some slight delay. If you check out the link from my first comment, you'll see a demo of it.

Enola, my app does support random patches!
