Cubasis Updated with MIDI Clock Sync

Cubasis has been updated with MIDI Clock support, and promises to solve "many user reported problems" which they hope includes a fix for the Undo bug that would Undo your whole project into oblivion.

Clarification: Thanks to reader Sinapsya for pointing out that although it will send Clock Start/Stop/Continue messages to sync apps with, it will not actually sync BPM! You'll have to do that manually in the individual apps, and then never change it!

What's new in Cubasis v1.4:

  • MIDI clock support (sends clock, start, continue, stop)
  • MIDI thru (located in inspector's MIDI connections tab)
  • New recording mode menu for punch in/out, pre-roll and count in
  • Interactive piano-roll in key editor
  • Improved key editor workflow
  • Drag & drop files from the Mediabay into the arranger or the trash.
  • Many user reported problems were solved

Buy Cubasis on iTunes: $49.99

fantastic news, I rushed to download the update :)

i really hope they focus a bit on the midi editing workflow now if they've ironed out some of the more serious bugs. if I create a few notes via the pencil mode and I want to erase one of the earlier ones I need to change to select mode, tap to deselect last created note, select the offending note, hit the erase button, then go back to pencil mode. just to delete one note while I'm in the flow of adding notes. doesn't sound like much but do it 20 times and you'll be asking 'why can't I just double tap to erase? or quick flick? or any of the methods competitors have employed to allow instant correction of mistakes. it seems like Steinberg have designed it with only editing of performance in mind not creating midi info from scratch.

er, well sorry for ranting in what is really a fantastic announcement. but this is a comments section on the internet after all :P
