PPG Wavegenerator is out!

It is here! Thanks very much to Duke for sending me an email just before I head to bed!

iTunes Description:

PPG WaveGenerator is the latest development from the inventor of wavetable synthesis, Wolfgang Palm. It is a next generation synthesizer, building on the heritage of the PPG Wave keyboards.

The PPG WaveGenerator comes with a multitude of wavetables. The sound material contains the typical sounds from the original PPG wave models, as well as many new sounds generated by versatile analysis tools and also hand edited waves.

This app enables the user, to create his own wavetables in a playful way, and to hear the result immediately. Also you can construct the waves by adding harmonics very precise.

Buy PPG WaveGenerator on iTunes: $19.99

Cool. How many presets does it ship with?

I'm afraid the app doesn't have AudioCopy or iTunes file sharing, and I'm not going to spend $20 to find out. To whomever takes the plunge, please let me know if the app allows recording, AudioCopy, and iTunes file sharing. Thanks in advance

So dope! Going to bed? What god forsaken time zone do you live in? ;)

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Hogo

It does have copy to clipboard...

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Wh0rules

First of all, it sounds very good. About 100 presets. I haven't gone through them all yet,but so far they are quality.
I don't see a record djk. You can export your sound banks but it looks like that's it.
I am hearing some static and some of the ol clicks n pops though. I have an ipad1 which could have something to do with it. I was going to let them know but the email link on the website doesn't have an address when clicked.
I haven't tried it out on my amp speakers yet just sitting in bed with headphones, so i can test it out more tomorrow. I'm impressed so far anyway.

Hey all of you - wait for updates

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Qmish

Where is copy to clipboard wh0rules? If there is any app that needs a manual this is it. TIM.......get out of bed and make a tutorial !!!!!

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Duke

Delay seems to be causing most of my pops and clicks.
I'm not worried. Updates will be coming.

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Anonymouse

That is inaccurate. Not the delay. I just turned the master vol down to about 30 on most of the presets from about 60 where they were originally and that is helping.

Ok, I'm open minded and all, but this is the first app that my fingers have trouble grabbing the drop down menus under the parameters. Is it just me?

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Duke

Ok I figured it out. A double tap is required to access the drop down menu's under the parameters. This is why I beg for a manual !!!

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Duke

Yeah Tim, who said you could sleep? Get to work!

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Hogo

And there is no Midi implemantation yet. :(

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Jann

Sorry guys there is a lot of misinformation being written here - for example 'no MIDI implementation' I suggest you download it or at least ask someone who has to comment on it.

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Russ Hughes

Could anyone who has it comment on for sure if it does have record & audio copy/paste?

September 05, 2012  | person_outline ChrisG

I'm sorry for my comment! There is a Midi implementation!

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Jann

ChrisG - no but performance record and audiocopy have been promised in the next update. Good enough for me as this is superb with sounds ranging from funky to crunchy and dreamy to creamy! Wavegenerator is delightful.

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Trueyorky

...I was wrong about ACP, sorry guys :(

Hopefully soon.

Hey Tim, let's here your review, 20 USD is an awful lot for yet another synth, albeit a special wave table one...

Cheers
P

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Pablof79

Great, thanks. Man I'm getting a backlog of iOS synths. :/

September 05, 2012  | person_outline ChrisG

20USD is a lot for a synth? A synth as deep as this?

Only in some weird spoiled iUniverse....

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Zymos

Get your butt out of bed, and pull this thing apart, Tim. Ain't no rest for the wicked, so stop resting!

The app looks cool -- but at $20, it's not an impulse buy, and as they've indicated the price will not go up or down, I'm happy to wait and see the full story....

HA! Fessaboy, that is my motto!

The review will be a while, there is a lot to dive into here. The one-line review is: "This is Animoog on Expert Mode!"

It will actually make you realize how brilliant Moog was in designing the Animoog interface, which now seems simplified by comparison. That's not to say that this is in any way bad, it is just vastly complex and people should be aware of that before throwing $20 at it.

How can they release an app with no recording, audiocopy, metronom in these days ! A mistery for me and a big disapointement.

September 05, 2012  | person_outline Jipé

Ppg - "yo, animoog. what is up? Is someone sitting there in that seat right next to you?"
Animoog - "i was saving it for you."

(ppg and animoog meet at the top of the mountain)

I am happy to pay the money and support wolfgang palm. He deserves it. And fortunately, it is worth it.

Is it just me or is this nowhere to be found in the top 300 music category in any country? Usually a high profile thing like this climbs really fast at least the first few days and then either kinda stick around or disappear. Without that exposure = no revenue.

September 05, 2012  | person_outline ChrisG

There was some weirdness with how it was showing up in directories. It wasn't even on AppShopper until about 12 hours after the initial release on the US App Store.

it sounds brilliant but damn does it need a manual! roll on the Discchord tutorial!

September 05, 2012  | person_outline RMG

Damn mofos. Leave our beloved Tim alone...he will do what he has to when he is ready. Better bone up on more. Common apps that we,ve downloaded , the past few weeks. Poor retailers, why spend a grand, when you can spend a buck?

September 06, 2012  | person_outline Chezzdog

Ha! Thanks Chezzdog! I'm glad to have a vocal audience though. The people have spoken!

I was planning on doing a review video, but it is obviously awesome so I'll do a tutorial video instead... now I just need to figure it out!
