KORG Volca Mix - Live Performance with Tony Horgan

Korg has unveiled the latest addition to the Volca line with a new mixer! The Korg Volca Mix is expected to ship this month, and is available for pre-order on Sweetwater for just $170. To help show it off, Korg invited Tony Horgan, author of The Expert Guide series of books detailing the Volcas.

Tony puts VOLCA-MIX through its paces in a live performance with VOLCA-SAMPLE, KICK and KEYS. KAOSSPADQUAD providing delay through the VOLA-MIX’s aux. Apart from the patterns made by Tony, the entire video was performed live with no overdubs or multi-tracking.

I'm curious to know why you think so. My only objection is to the styling... or lack there of. The rest of the Volcas all have some personality. This looks pretty boring. I still think it will sell well though.
I think it’s going to fail because I’ve seen commentary on places with Volca users with serious dedication and the general thought is they don’t care for the idea of it. These are people that if asked about selling a Volca, they say glue it with epoxy to your coffee table and don’t worry about selling it. For a $170USD mixer it isn’t impressive. I’m guessing a $50 Behringer has better build quality. The Volca Mix seems to not be powerable by battery, which would be the main selling point for me personally.
