Korg Volca Bass TB-303 Acid Sound & Comparison

There is a lot of excitement about the Volca's coming to the West, but I've been seeing a lot of misinformation in forums about the Volca Bass. So I put together a video to demonstrate the Acid capabilities of Korg's $150 analog monosynth, while comparing it to a TT-303, as well as providing some tips! I even run it through a Sunsine Audio Vanishing Point.

Great video Tim. Those Volcas are so tempting, gonna have to get 1 or 3 eventually. Also, I cracked up the way you said "anyone about to object to me not using a real TB-303 can go fuck themselves cause I'm not spending $3000 on one."

Good stuff and a really useful comparison. I thought the Volca sounded pretty good.

Fuck 303 or anything that sounds like it. I'd rather die then to ever hear that sound again!

@Who caresButtjam given we're constantly exposed to uncensored radio, tv, headphone leakage and whatever the current day version of Rick Rolling is.... you might be out of luck there :(

@Tim, interesting, still not sold on the Korgs, the TT-303 sounded good though!

Thanks a lot guys! And thank you to everyone who contributed to the Timmiegogo! This was filmed entirely on the 35mm lens I got for my birthday.

It is also spectacular for making silly shots look artistic: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos?pid=5931389802255211970&oid=114624633182315470302

@Tim

very nicely done - not too long - enough detail and even better if you contrasted with some of the iOS counterparts (sample i.e. DM1 or synth i.e. iElectribe based)

Cheers,

Garbage comparison… dude can’t write a decent acid line on either machine

Poorly-rated. Like or Dislike: 1 31

Really? Dude…

That’s New Order – Confusion (Pump Panel’s rendition) as it appeared in Blade. Probably the most famous 303 line ever.

Well-loved. Like or Dislike: 29 0

Wow, nice find dswo! That video is easily the most mellow/beautiful example of the Bass thus far! It's nice to hear some variety from it.
