Alesis iO Dock Hack: Internal USB hub
Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 9:52AM untergeek addresses one of the key problems with the Alesis iO Dock, which is unable to connect a USB Hub to the iPad. In this video he demonstrates why this is, with helpful cutouts, and how to fix it with only minor soldering and a hot glue gun. Now if only there was a simple solution to getting digital audio in/out of the dock, instead of going DA and then back to AD with shitty converters.
If you have an iO Dock and want to do this hack yourself read untergeek's write-up, which includes lots of helpful pictures.

Maybe NAMM has some interfaces out with the most requested and obvious features...dont understand why the digital inteface makers are not taping this and waiting on something....damn it : get the digital in/out , mic in out , line inout , 4 usb ports , midi inout , lightning port and make is a pluggable and portable interface ...not like the iodock...they can easily charge 200$ for this setup ..
Hoping NAMM has something
I'd order it today!
In the same dilemma here. I want a decent MIDI/audio interface, with multi ins and outs, that plugs into this ipad 4. Depressing that there is pretty much zilch to choose from :(
I use an Alesis iO4 with my iPad and am quite happy with it. It gives me four channels of XLR/line and MIDI in/out. My only gripe is the form factor and that it doesn't fit well on my pedal board.
