Auria Video Review

Wavemachine Labs haven't sent over a review copy of Auria yet. I was assured I had one coming, back in January when it was first announced, so I had hoped to have a review for you by now. Russ over at Pro Tools Expert has already put out a nice review.

I noticed there seemed to be some graphic stuttering when scaling and navigating. I've asked them about which iPad model was used here, to see if that is just a problem with iPad 1/2s. Edit: Chris pointed out in the comments that he starts off saying it is an iPad 2!

I wish British reviewers were more critical, but (with the exception of Nick Batt) they all see to be dangerously polite.

Buy Auria on iTunes: $49.99

Hi Tim.
They do give the spec of the iPad (ipad2) right at the beginning.
But I say old chap, were you not aware, we are always super polite (twirls mustache and lets monocle fall)

I was up most of last night putting Auria through its paces. It runs like a dream on my iPad 1 - no stuttering for me :-)
Very intuitive controls and brilliant plugins included for mixing and mastering. Definitely raises the bar for iOS.

thanks for posting the feedback, trueyorky... we all know you've been around the scene for quite a while and have pretty much seen it all on iOS, so your opinion matters more than most to me! :)

That's very kind of you. Thanks Robert.

Oh... duh, you're right, Chris! I totally missed that he said it was on an iPad 2! I must have been so anxious to see Auria in action that I couldn't hear him over me saying, "Common common common!"

OK, this is the third incarnation of this comment (mainly because it's my Birthday, and I'm drunk, or whatever; yee-hah!).
Still not getting this app. The video "tutorial/review" was a joke; the "expert" said himself that he gives accolades away with bags of crisps.
I find it difficult, nay impossible (yeah, I'm British, so I can get away with using words like nay!) to understand why everyone is going apeshit over this. Surely, most people that are going to buy this already have a certain amount of hardware/software, and that being the case, why in the "blue blazes" would you need to cart a kak-load of gear with you to record 48 tracks of audio, on a iPad???
I've recorded bands, and it would've been a pain in the hole, if I'd had to tap/tap/tap hold/tap hold drag/double tap/double tap drag hold on something before I could add a simple fade in. The thing would have been thrown out of a window, and dashed on the road way before that.
Why would you want to emulate a desktop interface on a multitouch tablet?
I suppose by now (if you're still reading this diatribe) you're thinking 'who is this idiot' - me too!
I'm just a middle aged man that has used a "fuckload" of hardware and software, and can remember when all you had to rely on was your wits (and drugs) and now we have affordable tools that defy the gods themselves, so why do we need this slow, kak-handed, awkward, counter intuitive app?
And in case you were wondering - I am available for life coaching, and lessons on how to use and abuse the English language.

Please address all correspondance to: "The bin". I love you all, you're all my best mates.

Goodnight, and good luck.
God, don't you just hate it when some idiot makes reference to a film? Yes. Yes I do!

geez, Blebhead if you can't afford to drop $50 on this app, just say so and be done with it! :)

p.s. happy birthday, roll 1 4 me 2, haha!

Best wishes Bleb. I'm an old ham, borne 1954. In. June. I am fortunate , as I can afford. A silver package. Cable package. Plowing eversoslowly towards a contract with a major car network media ( Yamaha sucked the life blood out of us). No matter..electric cars scare deaf ones, as they make very lil sound.. 2 steps forward, 3 steps back....

Lol English guys coming on here and being all biggles adventures.... Makes me glad to be welsh (go on avoid the obvious stereotype for that one)... :)

Couldn't resist auria any more and got it earlier today. It is an excellent app no doubt. Not so sure about the plug ins, although did spring for the overloud plug in which works really nicely. Not sure about the rest, any advice on them and how useful they would be?
