WaveMachine Labs was able to get the latest Auria update rushed through Apple's approval process, which should fix any problems people experienced with the last update. I didn't encounter the crashes, so I can't say for sure if this has fixed it. Although when I launched the updated version it informed me that the last time Auria ran it did crash, and asked if I wanted to submit a report!
This whole situation highlights some serious issues with Apple's reviews process. It took them over 2 weeks to review the crashing version, and yet after all that time the crash still effected customers. What exactly is Apple's walled-garden protecting us from if not major show stopping bugs?
Apple will occasionally deign to review apps quickly for "extenuating circumstances" with Expedited Reviews, as was the case with this latest update. This seems a little disingenuous though. If after 2 weeks you fail to catch a crashing bug, how do you manage a thorough test in 2 days? Events like this make a mockery of the whole process. Nothing is gained by Apple's strict control.
