DM2 - The Drone Machine Update

DM2 - The Drum Machine was updated with the a new Drone Machine. In this mode all 9 tracks switch from Drum Machine to Ambient Machine! I really look forward to checking this out!

What's new in DM2 - The Drum Machine v1.6:

Introducing the "DRONE MACHINE”. With the brand new "Drone Machine" mode DM2 turns into an instant Ambient machine. All 9 tracks play continuously regardless of what the sequencer plays. Switch it on and drive a powerful Dream Machine at the tips of your fingers. Extremely versatile when used with a MIDI controller and MIDI Learn mode. Dark Ambient admirers, Space Rock lovers, Dream Music adorers, Minimal fetishist are welcome.

** AMENDED**
+ AUDIO ENGINE : Improved CPU management when idle in the background
+ Faster loading time

** FIXED **
+ Minor Sequencer issue with solo mode
+ Some memory issues after a long use

Is this an early or late April Fool?
Maybe trying to steal back some thunder from Elastic (whose above-and-beyond feature set should make all devs try harder!)

I can't believe you're Droning on about elastic....

Does elastic do ambient drone? Surely any well-respected Drum synth should?

So this also leads me to wonder if any drone synths have a switch that turns them into drum machines?
Edit:

Yup...looks like Elastic has a drone thing too.
I quite like it. What I did wrong in the first place... all at once.
What I did was turning shutting off all of the sound sources except one, e.g. the Kick.
and with one sound source you can go to the synth section and start creating one sound. if you enjoy what you got, add another one, maybe this time a noise... if needed add another one :)

Can someone tell me how exactly the drone thing in elastic works!?!

This is how I've used it today. It's fun times.

Brilliant Mr Developer - make a video using a MIDI controller and cover the picture with a wash of colour so you can't even see what is going on.

How about a video with just an iPad (a set up most people would be using) and no color filters obliterating the details of the picture...?

So you don't think the Jacob HaQ videos would be good in purple or red?
I think it's cool. The video is very helpful and I dig the evolving color treatment. Fits the mood perfect and not as boring and tired as the typical videos that get constantly cranked out. Thanks, can't wait to take this new feature for a spin!

As you guys are all droning on about drum machines that can drone... you must, without hesitation buy Seekbeats. It is, without a doubt, the BEST drum synth on iOS. HANDS DOWN. In terms of synthesis opportunities I put it on the same level as my Analog Rytm. Not sound quality obviously, but in terms of the compete control over synth parameters.

I ignored it for a long time because the ui looked so... amateurish? But holy shit. It's fucking amazballs!!

1) the way he implemented envelopes is fucking genius. Like seriously out of this world awesome.
2) the randomization feature is worth 2x the price of admission.
3) the sequencer is the most versatile and novel. You can set pretty any combo of overall beat length and steps per beat for some totally wackballs time signatures.
4) the ability to control any parameter via velocity with this unique range slider that can be inverted is so fucking bad ass, especially if you play it with midi drum pads. Soooooo expressive! Soooo much fun!

It really needs a few routable LFOs though... And maybe note based chromatic pitch options.

The fx are a little odd, but I don't really care because of the ultimate party trick.

Individual
Fucking
Outputs!!!

Route each voice to a unique channel in AUM and just go insane on fx.

It then becomes essentially an 8 voice multitimbral monophonic synth.

The only thing I'm still begging ol' Rodrego for is midi cc control input...
