Let's Play with Ripplemaker

I had a recent epiphany that is relevant to this video. I like making weird noises. This is probably not news to anyone who has watched most of my videos, but I think I understand why I like making weird noises so much. Weird noises are new noises! I've been playing with synths off-and-on since the late 90's, and continuously since the late 00's. I've synthesized a lot of sounds, so for some quick new sounds to engage my ears I go into the weird. It's good to know that because I can catch myself before I go too far off into the deep end.

Ripplemaker is a high dive into the deep end, but I managed to avoid being too annoying in this Let's Play!

Video Description:

Bram Bos brings us another music app innovation with the semi-modular Ripplemaker. The app is designed for West Coast synthesis, and in this video I go so far West you can smell the salt spray on Fisherman's Warf. Speaking of salt spray... My birthday is in August, and would like corals for my birthday! If you've enjoyed this series please consider making a gift by becoming a Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/discchord If you'd prefer to help on a monthly basis, instead of per video, there is a monthly Patreon campaign: https://www.patreon.com/discchord_com

If you'd prefer to make a one-time gift, I would make great use of gift cards from either of these coral shops ( my email is in the video @ 23:08 ): http://uniquecorals.com/gift-card-nam... OR https://worldwidecorals.com/giftcard....

Another good one, Tim. Agree that Bram Bos has created a fantastic suite of apps, of which I have a couple but not Ripplemaker (yet). This demo didn't get too crazy and wild, but gave me a good idea of where this synth can go.

Your tank looks good so far. I hope you get some really nice additions and can post some pics as you expand the contents (sadly, I can't help with that right now...). Happy Birthday, and many more.

"Clowns losing their minds"... love it!

I'll have to pick this one up at some stage. It all feels familiar coming from the 0-Coast. Hopefully Bram will add some animation to the modulated knobs and step sequencer in a future update. It would really help with visual feedback.

I'm glad "west coast" is getting some play on iOS. This looks stellar like all the other Bram Bos stuff. It would be fun to have a "west coast" "east coast" summit with this app and model 15 doing the same content in unison. Put some acoustic drums on there and then it could be iSilver Apples.

I would truly lose my mind if somebody brought synth sounds of Raymond Scott to iOS.

LOL, that was the first thing to come to mind.

I recognized the name, but had to look him up to familiarize myself with this work. So basically you want to make Looney Tunes soundtracks? ;)

Nice! We should start a support group. "I'm not weird, if we're all weird together."

the only thing that seems lame to me is that if you use this app e.g. via aum or modstep (iaa/au), theres no way to use the inbuild sequencer..
u may correct me if i didnt get the principles of iaa/au at all..

Enjoying Ripplemaker
Here is a piece I did entirely in Ripplemaker. I got something that sounded a bit like birds and went with it.
