discchord Community Preset Pack for Sunrizer: Jingle Bells

This month's preset contest was a huge success! We have a collection of 21 presets, so I talked to Beep Street about adding it to the in-app download library.

It is there now! You can download the community preset pack from right inside of Sunrizer! This is unfortunately only available on the iPad version of Sunrizer, because some of the presets are incompatible with SunrizerXS for iPhone. Make sure you have the latest update to Sunrizer, in order to see the new pack listed.

To Install:

  1. In Sunrizer tap on the center-top display that shows the current preset.
  2. Hit the Banks button in the top right of the menu that pops-up
  3. In the bottom right of the Banks menu is a Web Library button.
  4. From there you should see a list like the one pictured here.
  5. Tap on the Jingle Bells name and it will ask if you want to install the bank.

This is a great honor and I'm seriously so proud of this community right now! These are all great, and some of them are quite dark. As Sunrizer's developer Jaroslaw Jacek mentioned to me, they sound appropriate for The Last Christmas!

Everyone who participated this month will be receiving a nice big bunch of preset presents from Sunsine Audio! Thanks Sunsine!

  • 15 new exclusive Sunrizer (or XS) presets
  • 16 exclusive samples in .wav and Beatmaker format
  • A full copy of Sinerise Vol. 2!

You can listen to our community presets here on the SoundCloud page. Embedded below are 9 of them selected at random, because SoundCloud won't let me embed a full list of them all. Thank you very much to everyone who participated!

Animoog 2.0!

The highly anticipated Audiobus update for Animoog is here! It brings other new features as well, including a new 4 Track recorder.

What's new in 2.0:

  • Scale Lock
  • Note Hold Function
  • Battery Indicator
  • Accelerometer as a Mod Source
  • Audiobus Compatibility
  • Load/Save MIDI CC maps
  • Sonoma Audiocopy/Audiopaste integration
  • Double-Tap to delete Path points

Now Available in the Animoog Store:

  • New 4-Track recorder (for iPad 2 or above)- Now you can record, edit, loop, import from iTunes and export to Soundcloud all from within the Animoog world.
  • Grateful Dead Expansion Pack- An incredible new Timbre/Preset pack created from a live performance by the Grateful Dead at the Carousel Ballroom on 2/14/68

Buy Animoog on iTunes: $14.99 (On sale, $29.99)

The 4 Track recorder is a $5 IAP, but since it is now Audiobus compatible you could record Animoog in anything. The 4 Track is actually pretty cool though, and very functional. You can split up recordings and move them around. Plus you have individual track copy/paste, and Sonoma AudioCopy/Paste to work with. Each track has its own volume control, so you can mix them individually. This is a big step up from using the old recorder (which is still available), and makes it truly possible to put together a full song in Animoog.

In case there is any confusion, the Audiobus support is totally free! You do not need an IAP for that! Only the 4 Track and Grateful Dead expansion pack are IAPs. Presently you do not need an IAP to use the 4 Track, thanks to DJ KE for finding that! See comments below for details.

Update: Moog have updated the iTunes description for the 4 Track IAP with the following:

As a gift to Animoog users, the 4-Track recorder is completely free through Dec 31, 2012.

Lemur 4.0

Liine has updated Lemur to version 4.0! This update to the elaborate custom MIDI control surface adds the ability to make templates right on your device! This is something a lot of other MIDI apps have been playing with for a while, but it is nice to see it come to Lemur.

What's new in 4.0:

  • Fully featured in-app template editor
  • 3 new UI skins: Pixel, Flat, and Shaded
  • Various bug fixes

Buy Lemur on iTunes: $49.99

When nearly all of the other MIDI control surfaces are $5, Lemur may seem outrageously priced at 10 times that.

For most purposes it is! However, the scripting engine in Lemur allows you to do things which are impossible in the others. If you have the patience to learn and a desire to make use of scripts then it is absolutely worth while. If not, well there are a lot of templates already available on Liine's site. Otherwise, it is just a prettier TouchOSC.

Mee Zanook - Neesa (on iMS-20)

Buy Korg iMS-20 on iTunes: $14.99 (On Sale, from $32.99)
