Everyone Can Play Music #19: Synthesizing Pads

It was a year ago today that I started Everyone Can Play Music, making this is ECPM's 1st Birthday! Thank you very much to everyone that has sent me emails of encouragement and letting me know how much the series means to you. The response to this series has been amazing. Each video has 5x more views than I had even hoped!

I'd also like to thank Palm Sounds, MatrixSynth, iOS Musician, and the communities of Reddit. When I was just starting out with a crappy Rockband mic and a dream, these sites all helped me reach you guys!

This lesson is an introduction to synthesizing Lead parts; making a Super Saw out of just 2 Oscillators!

Sunsine Friday The 13th Sale and new Bundle

Sunsine Audio are offering a new bundle with Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 of their Sunrizer Presets, Sinerise. This is ordinarily $6.50, but they are also doing a Friday The 13th sale on all of their products! Everything is 20% off, now through Sunday.

Rockmate gets MIDI & Audio Paste

Fingerlab, makers of DM1 Drum Machine, have a "complete music studio" app for the iPad called Rockmate. It hasn't gotten a lot of attention, but this new patch might change that! Both MIDI In and sample import, via Audio Paste, have been added. Rockmate already supported Audio Copy, so now you have full in and out options for your sounds.

Here's the official trailer.

VoxKit is out!

Secret Base Design just released VoxKit! This Universal app is a MIDI Drum controller than you can trigger with sounds you make in the real world. Different sounds can trigger different drums! You can then send the MIDI out via CoreMIDI, or even DSMIDI WiFi. If sending MIDI all over the place isn't your thing, VoxKit has its own sample playback engine that supports Audio Copy/Paste.

Some people have been comparing this to the best part of the Wavedrum Mini, at 1/250th the price! They are also doing a sale on their other apps, Audio MIDI Connect and Live Guitar are both just $2!

Buy Live Guitar on iTunes: $1.99 (On Sale, from $4.99)

StompBox on sale for 50% off!

Wow there sure are a lot of these guitar effects apps, and little wonder considering the price of some pedals!

4Pockets Audio has their own, and it is on sale now for only $10. This looks like a great deal, since there is only 1 IAP and it is a mere $4 for a looper.

Buy StompBox on iTunes: $9.99 (On Sale, from $19.99)

I compared the features between this and AmpliTube and I am kind of puzzled. Why do these guys both have FTP export? That seems so anachronistic. Don't get me wrong, I love to get down and nerdy with my File Transfer Protocoling, but who is really using this? Why is this a bullet point for both of these apps? JamUp Pro needs to step up and offer FTP and Usenet; export directly to alt.binaries.mp3!

Here is a demo from 4Pockets, featuring Brazilian Guitarist Marcos Klien.
